Nancy is Head of Design & Customer at T-Shirt Ventures. Previously, she led impactful design initiatives at Shippit and Deputy. Passionate about designing intuitive and meaningful customer experiences, Nancy helps startups understand the power of inclusive and accessible design. When she's not leading a passionate design team, she’s pottering, enjoying pastries and taking photos of neighbourhood cats.
As a foundational team member at Slyp, Bianca has been solving century long pain-points to create the Smart Receipt – a digital receipt that’s sent straight to your bank app. She leads by challenging how people think and advocates for design choices that create positive social impact. Over the years she has learned that empathy and understanding are key to great design and that for something to be beautiful, it must first be functional.
Focusing on human-centred design, Sophie’s passion is ensuring creativity has a meaningful impact. With a background in branding, publishing, digital design, fashion and advertising, she focuses on bringing design thinking to every creative challenge. More recently, her time has focused on mentoring and supporting emerging designers and developing creative leadership within organisations. Currently at Canva, she leads a team of multi-disciplinary designers working across branding, production, motion and campaign within the internal Canva Brand Studio.
Olivia is Head of Design at Eucalyptus, specialising in brand, digital product and experiences. She has a passion for purposeful, accessible design and helping enrich the lives of others. With a multidisciplinary background she's led both agency and in-house design teams to launch meaningful products and brands, while spending her spare time teaching young designers at UTS.
Having worked in roles across engineering and design in technology since 2010, Milly now leverages her diverse experience as a leader. After 2 years as Director of product at UsabilityHub, she's officially successfully transitioned into management even though she never thought she would.
Having recently transitioned from designer to design manager, Mitch Clements has a passion for bringing individuals together to innovate and create. He is the vice-chair of a product mentorship program in his local community, and enjoys volunteering his time as a mentor on ADPList.org. At SimpleNexus he helps streamline the homeownership journey for millions of homebuyers.
Tara Kelly is a product design leader in the San Francisco Bay Area. She’s made a career on being the first designer hire, then building up a team from scratch. In her 14+ years in the business, she’s founded two of her own companies, sold one, been the first hire at multiple startups, and worked in large multinational companies. Tara’s part of the 500 startups network, member of the UXPA, and an active mentor in the UX design community. She’s passionate about designers being positioned for success, and has written First Designer In, a hyper-practical guide for survival as a startup’s first design hire.
With 11 years in design and 6 years in leadership, Sami views herself as a proactive human-centred design leader. She's passionate about creative problem solving and positive change. Whether it's at a boutique or enterprise-scale, crafting for connection is one of her core beliefs. With a deep love for people leadership, she uses her creative, business and strategic mindset to inspire teams and drive a shared vision.
Felix Lee is the co-founder and CEO of the global mentorship platform, ADPList and sets the vision and strategy for the company. Felix has overseen the ADPList to become a community of 4500 mentors across 40+ countries and regions. A designer and entrepreneur, Felix has embedded his creative roots in ADPList culture, product and community. He's been featured on Forbes, Tech in Asia, StraitsTimes and CNBC.
Dineth heads up Design for Airwallex. Previously, he headed up Design for Anti-discrimination, City Regulations and In-Home Accessibility teams at Airbnb in San Francisco. Dineth feels fortunate to have been part of high growth companies and seen first-hand how these companies go from zero to one hundred, and also how the needs of the businesses, their designers, and Design Teams change drastically over time. He's passionate about design being a driving force for businesses to understand how to solve the right problems, as well as also showing how multi-functional Design Teams can have a tremendous impact on customer interactions.
Mim has spent the last few years building, scaling and nurturing highly effective Design Teams in SAAS companies. She is deeply passionate about inclusive design practices, accessible design systems and ensuring businesses truly know their users.
Sandy has been working in the Aussie tech industry for the past 5 years as an end-to-end Product Designer. She believes the most impactful teams are those that collaborate on a daily basis. What she loves most about being a product designer is collaboration. For Sandy, there’s nothing better than crafting solutions with passionate people who bring diverse ideas and experiences to the table.
A UX Designer with a heart! With a background in Fashion Design and Mental Health, Fiona loves bringing an empathetic approach to understanding people and their stories. She uses that to improve lives through great design. What she enjoys is helping people reach their goals and creating impactful practical solutions.
Sophie is an award-winning designer, who specialises in end-to-end product design & mentoring others worldwide. Previously she was a passionate fashion designer and owned a bridal label, but shifted her career to add meaning to her designs, solve big problems and improve people’s lives! Furthermore, Sophie is a proud stutterer advocate and passionate about raising awareness in the mental health & introvert space.
Tommy loves helping build and launch products from the ground up (Beem It, Woolworths Rewards App), almost as much as he loves his football team Arsenal. With a background in the advertising world, he has a passion for championing out of the box thinking and delightful user experiences that simultaneously achieve success for businesses. Tommy has a superhuman ability to wear flip flops in the dead of winter.
Rohan is a Research Operations Manager working at the intersection of research practices, impactful experiences and organisational culture. He believes good research is about making better decisions—which is why his research practice is adaptive and pragmatic. Rohan is a local leader for the Australian ReOps+ community, mentor, speaker and facilitator and a massive nerd for all things research and community building.
Jackson is a Product Design Lead at Deputy. In the last year he has doubled-down on his love for mentoring new designers, scaling design processes and improving design quality by beginning to manage other designers on the team. When he's not thinking about design, he's cycling the streets of Sydney and tracking down pastries to eat.
Jac loves helping others grow. Her other hustles include Lead UX Instructor @General Assembly as well as a Product consultant for a number of SaaS startups. Over the last 15 years, she's worked with organisations to turn their biggest, wildest ideas into long-term viable, lovable products. She's hopped around from start-ups, enterprises, media, and digital product agencies in New York, Vancouver, Tokyo, Singapore, and now back home in Sydney, Australia. Her goal is to contribute to a better-designed and well-balanced future, and she believes mindsets directly impact one's success.
Krystalyn has spent the past 18-years harnessing her passion for design and working with some of the biggest brands in media, technology and finance. She is currently the Senior Director of Product Design at CM Group where she leads their global product design team to create product experience magic for their tens of thousands of customers across the globe.
Tim Yeo (@timyeo) coaches introverts to have impact and influence without pretending to be extroverts at The Quiet Achiever. He is currently Design Director @ IBM, helping Enterprise clients transform their businesses with enterprise scale at startup speed. In IBM, Tim focuses on DesignOps for the Customer Transformation design practice in Australia. Previously, Tim was the first UX and Design leader at fintech startups @Finder, @OFX and @Prospa where he hired, established and scaled design teams from scratch. Best known for saying complex things simply. He's also a public speaker, bookbinder and currently living the nomad life with no permanent address in Adelaide, Australia with his partner and the fluffiest Old English Sheepdog ever.
Lisi's been leading design at Deputy for the past 10 years, scaling the discipline to a global team of product designers, brand designers, researchers and operational rockstars. Passionate about leading with love, she embraces transparency and vulnerability to achieve collaboration, creativity and business outcomes. Nothing energises her more than building authentic relationships, and seeing designers grow in their craft and influence. Keep an eye out for her corgi (Fitzy) who loves to lurk in the background of her webcam.
Annie's background is in marketing and brand design; moving to UX after 8 years in the wine industry. She loves learning about people. You'll often find Annie immersed in deep conversations about human nature. On weekends, she's at the park with her nose buried in a good book while Taco (her Corgi) runs around chasing butterflies.
David is Director, Product Design at Deputy with a background in mobile games. He focuses on ensuring Deputy's incredible product designers can have the most impact possible and have fun while doing it. He believes in a collaborative, inclusive approach to design and that great ideas can come from anywhere. You can find him on Google hangouts drinking tea from an oversized Pikachu mug.
Divya is a former product manager turned Voice of Customer researcher who advocates for ethical, empathetic design. Shaped by her background ranging from interior design to e-commerce, she believes customer experience must be equally prioritized alongside profit margins. She weaves user stories into the fabric of Deputy’s daily operations so everyone is connected to our core value - Listen to Learn. In her spare time Divya is an artist, avid traveler, and a yoga entrepreneur.
Raffy is a Brand Designer for Deputy, and considers herself a full-time lifetime student of design. She is constantly fascinated by the ever-evolving mediums, practices and disciplines of design but has found a home under the branch of brand design where she feels all the points meet. She loves breathing in life and personality to a brand by inserting little human elements and intentionality into her designs. She believes that everyone is intrinsically creative in their own ways, and this is a way for people to connect and relate with each other.
Jacob is an advertising agency ex-pat that has worked on big and small brands from all corners of Australia. As an Art Direction/Design hyphenate, his focus is on marrying concept and execution in the same space. He loves to bring heart and character to the Deputy brand, believing that the best way to breathe life into the tech space is to reveal the true human characters behind the beast.
